In our work with dozens of Swiss SMEs, one observation frequently emerges: most of them make the same marketing mistakes.
Not out of incompetence. But due to a lack of perspective, time, or method.
1. Vague (or non-existent) positioning
Many SMEs merely list their services.
A good positioning answers three questions:
- Why you and not someone else?
- What is your concrete promise?
- What specific problem do you solve?
Example: "We help Swiss medical practices save 1 day per week through digitized administrative management."
What we recommend:
- Express audit of your brand message.
- Clarify your priority targets.
- Formalize a differentiating positioning statement.
2. Underestimating the value of content
Content is one of the most profitable long-term investments. It makes you visible and positions you as an expert.
A controlled pace, with one or two suitable formats, is sufficient.
What we recommend:
- Choose the right format (articles, newsletter, videos…).
- Define 3-4 editorial pillars aligned with your expertise.
- Set up a mini quarterly editorial calendar.
3. Not measuring results
Without measurement, there's no steering. Without steering, there's no optimization.
Good indicators:
- Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)
- Customer Lifetime Value (LTV)
- Lead conversion rate
- Customer retention rate
- Qualified website traffic
What we recommend:
- Simple dashboard (Google Looker Studio).
- Quarterly objectives per channel.
- Mini performance review every 2 months.
